Uvwie — Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries and the 2027 general elections, Delta State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr Sonny Akporokiamo Ekedayen, on Friday hosted the newly elected APC Ward 7 Executive and party leaders in Uvwie Local Government Area.
The strategic meeting, led by Ward 7 Chairman Comr. Obakpororo Olughor, had in attendance Hon. Barr. Edafe Emakpor, Member representing Uvwie Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly; Hon. Andrew Agagbo, Vice Chairman of Uvwie LGA; Comr. Winifred Ilelegi, SSA to the Governor, popularly known as “Wicked General, Amb. Dr Patrick Ighomrore, SSA to the Governor & Hon. Collins Ighrakpata.
Congratulating the new Ward 7 Executive on their election, Ekedayen thanked them for honouring his invitation and charged them to work in close synergy with ward members, leaders, and LGA officials. He emphasised the target of delivering a 95% success rate, or 5/5 victory, for the APC in Uvwie during the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Emakpor, Hon. Agagbo, Comr. Ilelegi, and Dr Ighomrore urged the Ward 7 Exco to view their elevation as a call to service. They noted that Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori’s people-focused projects across Uvwie and Delta State have strengthened the party’s position ahead of 2027, despite the poor outing in 2023.
In his response, Ward 7 Chairman Comr. Olughor expressed appreciation to Ekedayen and his team for the hosting and support. He assured that work has already commenced, adding that with the guidance of party leaders and the performance of the Governor, Ward 7 is committed to delivering a 5/5 result in 2027.
The meeting ended with a closing prayer by Pst. Vincent Ekedayen.
