The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS), Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has reaffirmed the Service's commitment to inter-agency collaboration as a strategy for improving revenue generation and blocking leakages in the state.

Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata made this known on Tuesday while receiving the Area Comptroller of Customs, Edo/Delta Command, Comptroller Judith Kanu, and her team during a courtesy visit to the Delta State Internal Revenue Service Headquarters in Warri.

Welcoming the new Area Comptroller, Hon. Ighrakpata stated that DSIRS is ready to work in synergy with the Nigeria Customs Service to strengthen revenue collection in line with the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.

He emphasized that collaboration among revenue-generating agencies is critical to achieving the state's fiscal targets and sustaining development.

Addressing the Customs officers, the DSIRS Chairman disclosed that Delta State's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has grown significantly since he assumed office, rising from ₦80 billion to over ₦200 billion.

“This growth has played a key role in strengthening the state's finances, funding critical infrastructure projects, and driving economic development across Delta State,” he said.

Earlier, Comptroller Judith Kanu expressed appreciation to Hon. Ighrakpata for the warm reception. She pledged the Command's commitment to collaborating with DSIRS for mutual benefit and improved service delivery.

Both parties agreed that intelligence sharing, joint enforcement operations, and capacity building would be priority areas for immediate cooperation.
