The Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has commended the Delta State Civil Service Commission for its commitment and the good work they are doing in the state’s Civil service.

Ighrakpata gave the commendation when he received the Chairman and members of the Delta State Civil Service Commission on a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service.

Speaking during the visit, the Revenue Boss said the service was pleased with the staff of the Civil Service Commission deployed to the Revenue Service, noting that they have been working harmoniously with other members of staff.

He expressed appreciation to the Civil Service Commission for its support and commitment, adding that the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen the existing relationship between both institutions.

Ighrakpata also highlighted the significant milestones recorded in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) since he assumed office, noting that the revenue profile of the state has witnessed tremendous growth.

According to him, the Revenue Service has continued to record steady and accelerated growth in IGR, adding that the achievement was made possible through sustained reforms, improved revenue administration and the commitment of the staff of the service.

He, however, stressed that the service would not rest on its oars, but would continue to explore new strategies to increase the state’s revenue base and generate more resources for the state government.

He said the increased revenue would provide the Oborevwori -led administration with more resources to execute developmental projects and programmes aimed at improving the lives of Deltans.

The Executive Chairman expressed confidence in the ability of the Revenue Service to sustain the upward trajectory in IGR, noting that the service has a revenue target of N250 billion for the 2026 fiscal year.

He  expressed confidence that the management and staff of the service would work collectively to deliver on the target for the overall development of Delta State.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Delta State Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Roseline Amioku, thanked the Revenue Boss for receiving the commission's delegation with an open heart.

Amioku explained that the purpose of the visit was twofold: to pay a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman and to interact with the staff of the Civil Service Commission currently working with the Delta State Internal Revenue Service.

She said the commission was interested in knowing how the staff were faring, whether they were comfortable in their places of deployment and the challenges they might be facing in the course of their duties.

She  commended the management of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service for its cooperation with the commission's staff and expressed optimism that the visit would further strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.
