The Provost of the College of Education, Warri, Dr. Mrs. Fidelia Ighrakpata, on Sunday offered heartfelt thanksgiving to Almighty God during a special service held at Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun.
The solemn celebration attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Council Chairmen, senior government officials, political leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate with the newly inaugurated Provost and thank God for His grace, favour and faithfulness upon her life and career.
The thanksgiving service featured prayers, hymns and inspiring exhortations, as worshippers expressed gratitude to God for Dr. Ighrakpata's historic emergence as the first substantive female Provost of the College of Education, Warri. Special prayers were also offered for divine wisdom, strength and guidance as she steers the institution towards greater academic excellence and development.
The atmosphere was filled with joy, thanksgiving and celebration as dignitaries from across Delta State joined the Provost and her family to commemorate the significant milestone.
The event also reflected the wide-reaching goodwill enjoyed by her husband, Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service and Leader of the OSU Political Forum. His strong relationships across the political and public service landscape were evident in the calibre of personalities who attended the thanksgiving service in solidarity with the family.
Among those in attendance were political leaders, Executive Directors, members of the management and staff of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, traditional leaders, clergy, associates and supporters from different parts of the state.
Other notable personalities present included Hon. Festus Agas and the APC flag bearer for the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, Hon. Ramson Onoyake, alongside several prominent stakeholders from the political, business and educational sectors, all of whom congratulated Dr. Mrs. Fidelia Ighrakpata on her appointment and wished her a successful tenure as Provost.
